Home Recording: Looking for an Angel

Here's part 5 of my home recording series; part 4 is here.

Well, if you thought the recording quality wasn't too good on the last four songs, I'm afraid it gets a little worse here. The main reason is because I was using an old 4-track tape recorder and a cheap synthesizer (Roland JP4).

Anyhow, now I've got my excuses out of the way, here's a song that's about someone looking for his ideal woman; nothing particularly deep in the way of lyrics.

Looking for an Angel
copyright 1988 by Graham Glass

I have an image of the perfect form,
Physique and mind in harmony.
But where on earth is such a beauty born,
And would she ever talk to me?

I know, I know,
I'm looking for an angel in disguise.

I've got a plan to meet my fantasy,
I have to be the best I can.
For only then I'll find reality,
The hope and dream of every man.

I know, I know,
I'm looking for an angel in disguise.
I know, I know,
I'm looking for an angel in disguise.

Oh my God, you're beautiful.
Could you be the one I've been looking for all this time?
Could it be this time?

Turn off the light my angel, hold me close.
Tonight we'll give our love as one.
And in this my heart of mine that almost froze,
The miracle has just begun.

I know, I know,
I'm looking at an angel in disguise.
I know, I know,
I'm looking at an angel in disguise.

Could it be this time?

Yes I know, I know, I know,
I'm looking at an angel.

Graham - sounds like the Pet Shop Boys. I was a big fan of theirs in the 80s.

Destiny

  • Destiny is my science fiction movie about the future of humanity. It's an epic, similar in breadth and scope to 2001: A Space Odyssey.
