A New Constitution, Part 10

This is part 10 of a series; part 9 is here.

Since I just took the oath of allegiance in order to become a US citizen, I thought it was a good time to pick an oath for my new constitution:

I swear by my life and my love of it that I will never live for the sake of another person nor ask another person to live for the sake of mine.

Readers of Ayn Rand will note that this is taken from Atlas Shrugged; I think it captures the essence of the first guiding principle quite well.
