Olafur Eliasson

I saw an exhibition of Icelandic artist Olafur Eliasson today at the San Francisco Museum of Art. His creations ranged from a beautiful crystalline walkway to a mesmerizing wall of light.

Here are a couple of photos I took of the crystalline walkway with my iPhone. First, a side view:

Second, the roof:

I'm now a Published Photographer!

A few weeks I was contacted out of the blue by Tufts University, who wanted to use one of my Boston photos in some of their collateral. I readily agreed, and now I'm happy to say I'm officially a published photographer! Here's a scan of a fridge magnet that uses the photo:

Pure Love

When her husband died, this woman commissioned a sculpture that is one of the most beautiful things I've ever seen.

Brian Eno: 77 Million Paintings

Yesterday I visited the 77 Million Paintings event by Brian Eno at the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts. Brian uses a computer system to generate a continuously-changing picture out of smaller elements. The picture changes very slowly, with cool spacey background music; the overall effect is very relaxing and somewhat hypnotic. Highly recommended.

Thomas Barbey

Another great bit of art I saw at the Union St Fair was by Thomas Barbey. His work is highly creative, and reminds me of the fantastical scenes thought up by Terry Gilliam of Monty Python fame. There's no way to adequately describe his work - you just have to experience it.

Destiny

  • Destiny is my science fiction movie about the future of humanity. It's an epic, similar in breadth and scope to 2001: A Space Odyssey.
