While Microsoft and O'Reilly talk about Web 2.0 + SaaS + SOA, at events like Bar Camp and Mash Pit and SuperHappyDevHouse, coders are taking things into their own hands and doing something about it. Check out the origin story for pbwiki: http://superhappydevhouse.org/UserStories
The Dallas crowd has a (potential) Mash Pit brewing up for the end of this month, and a CocoaDevHouse (for OS X enthusiasts only) confirmed for the beginning of March. Just say "Yes" to geek direct action :-)
