The early beta of EDU 2.0 is now officially live. You can access the site at http://www.edu20.org. To obtain a password, visit the site and register your email address.
The early beta is running on a single server at our office; the next major release will run on a cluster in a web hosting environment.
The early feature set supports a lot of the core functionality that you'd expect from any web-based community education platform. We have a ton of much cooler cutting-edge stuff lined up, but for right now, the emphasis is on ease-of-use and initial content.
As always, all feedback is most welcome!
And now, it's time to smoke a Portofino cigar and drink a Camus Borderies XO cognac; a tradition we started at The Mind Electric to celebrate a new software release.
What you need on the start page is a one or two sentence description of what the site is. This blog entry helps a little. But I still don't have a clear idea what the site is and why I should give up my email address to it.

I am really curious to see what you're doing. Glue is still the best WS toolkit around, and Voyager even better.
Unfortunately I'm on Linux and Firefox, so I hope it won't be long until I can find out.

Hi Stephen,
I've added a few lines of description that should help people understand a little of what we do.
Thanks for your suggestion!
Cheers,
Graham
