I lived in Tehran, Iran from the ages of 4-6, and benefited from a fantastic school called Mrs. Hekmat's school for international students. One of the distinguishing features of this school was that they placed you in a class based on your abilities, not your age; as a result, I was able to read fluently, perform long multiplication and division, and know a fair amount about science when I was only 6 years old.
This photo album brings back good memories of those years; the Iranian scenery is far more beautiful than most people imagine. It's a terrible shame that there is so much tension between Iran and the US.
