Re: the legislation quote; the point here is that laws that interfere with the free market are usually (if not always) influenced by players in the marketplace themselves rather than by some kind of altruistic force.

Re: the Einstein quote. Agreed, the Pyramids are a good counterexample. However, I liked the overall gist of the quote so I posted it anyway ;-)
